at Colby Fri nite - did not see the game but the box tells the story - 3 Colby PP goals in the first period made it a 3-0 game right away and we never caught up - our lone goal Gimbel from O'Connell with 2 seconds left in the second period was our only goal so it made for a long night with a 6-1 loss - enough said about that one

I did go up to Bowdoin for that game Saturday afternoon - it took about 1 1/2 periods of play before a good hockey game started - we had the early minute blues in both the first and second period allowing Bowdoin goals at 1:13 and 2:47 respectively - finally at 9:33 Korchin took a pass from Mellgren and Davis, split then dragged two Bowdoin defensemen, had a delayed call in the works, and somehow poked the puck in to make it a 2 -1, then some decent up and down play ensued, chances at both ends, but no scoring for the rest of the period --- into the third we go and the opening malaise continued with another Bowdoin goal at 2:09 to widen the lead to 3-1 - this time we get it back quickly - at 3:08 Korchin feeds Clark in the slot to quickly cut it to 3-2 - once again up and down, no scoring, good plays all round, we pull the goalie and Bowdoin closes it out with the open net strike with 2 seconds left for the 4-2 final ----- Kalec was very good in net, the team that played the second half of the game was much better than those on the ice the first thirty minutes - hopefully this bodes well with 8 BIG league games in front of us with playoff spots up for grabs with all but the top 3 or 4 spots wide open
