We traveled to Conn College last night for a big game against them, a team that we will battle for a playoff spot
1ST Period - slow start for the Jumbos finally resulting in a 0-1 deficit on a CC pp at 6 minutes - we battled back playing a little better and tying it up at 13:37 Pat Bryne from Sean Sullivan but quickly fell behind 1 min later to make it 1-2 - at 16:37 we got a power play and 20 seconds later scored our first of three goals within 1:18 to close out the period with a great run and a 4-2 lead - the goals were by John Hurd, Matt McCarthy and Byrne with assists to Mike Carceo,Ken Cleary, Sullivan and Chris Martin - we seem to be getting the knack of finishing periods strong rather than a bad tendency we showed earlier on of poor late period play
2ND Period - again a slower start and we really are being beaten to the puck for long stretches and let CC get back into the game at 6:56 to make it 4-3 - fortunately we pick up a goal from Rich Baker, his career first, at 11:12 - we survive a 3 on 4 and at 15:43 the barn goes dark, I mean actually black with a power outage - information is not at a premium and 1 1/4 hours later we are 5 minutes to leaving and rescheduling the balance when the lights come back on - lights were out in the entire New London area - so anyway we start up again to finish the second and once again we get a late goal McCarth from Cleary to make it 6-3
3RD Period - we merely change ends and go right into the 3rd and suddenly there are no penalties, all up and down, CC has the edge for the first 10 min but Crapser holds the fort, we score again at 14:35, a nice breakaway by Matt Kniaz from Martin, to end it with a 7-3 victory.

A very nice win and made the late ride back pretty pleasant for all of us shots were CC44 TU39 so you can see that once again Ben Crapser was strong - McCarthy got the game puck along with Baker for his first - penalties were 4CC 10TU pretty normal for a trip down there

this weekend another road trip to Mass College (No. Adams) and Skidmore for two very important games - I cannot go but I will get the game reports and hopefully have my act together Sun PM - almost forgot ,we do have a non league game Tues at Suffolk, 8at BU - and keep in mind the next two home games 24th and 25th - quite a few people have told me they plan to be at one of these games -should be great hockey Ben
